Scheduling Cases: 

  • Judge Warren's office manages scheduling all criminal and civil cases assigned to her division of court. Criminal cases where the defendant remains incarcerated without bond are given priority. 
  • Hearings in criminal cases can be requested by filing a Motion and Rule Nisi with the Superior Court Clerk of Court and submitting a courtesy copy of each to WarrenCRDocket@douglascountyga.gov. Criminal cases cannot be scheduled by request without a Rule Nisi.
  • Hearings in civil/domestic cases can be requested by filing a Motion with the Superior Court Clerk of Court and submitting a courtesy copy to WarrenCVDocket@douglascountyga.gov along with the following information to assist in scheduling:
    • Case number and style of case (ex. 23CV01234 John Doe v. Jane Doe)
    • Type of Case (ex. Divorce, Contempt, Legitimation, etc.)
    • Date service was made on other party
    • Type of Hearing Requested (final hearing, temporary hearing, motions, status, etc.)
      • If final hearing, has this case been to mediation? *NOTE* - unless there is a waiver in the record and good cause shown, this matter will not be scheduled for a final hearing without mediation in a contested matter. 
    • If motions are requested, list all motions to be heard. *NOTE* - any motions filed after the hearing scheduled are subject to rescheduling at Judge Warren's discretion
    • If this matter involves child custody, has a Guardian ad Litem been appointed?
    • Time estimate for each side

About Judge Warren:

 

Judge Warren was appointed to the Superior Court bench on March 16, 2022, by Governor Brian Kemp. Prior to her appointment, Judge Warren had a distinguished career as a public servant. At the time of her appointment, she served as the Chief Assistant District Attorney in the Douglas County District Attorney’s Office under District Attorney E. Dalia Racine. She previously served as Deputy Chief District Attorney under the previous District Attorney Brian Fortner. 

 

Judge Warren began her legal career in the Douglas County Solicitor General’s Office in 2007, where she primarily prosecuted domestic violence crimes and DUIs. In addition to her aforementioned service, Judge Warren also prosecuted Crimes Against Women and Children in the Clayton County District Attorney's Office where she served on the Statewide Human Trafficking Task Force. In 2018, Judge Warren joined the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office where she prosecuted homicides as a member of the Major Case Division. She was recognized for her trial work, receiving First Year Major Case Prosecutor of the Year honors in 2018 and then Major Case Prosecutor of the Year honors in 2019. Judge Warren’s work has been featured in media and television. 

 

Judge Warren has also regularly committed her time and energy to the greater community as an instructor, coach, and mentor. She has been a regular conference speaker and presenter on the topic of trial practice and procedure to attorneys, law enforcement, and citizens. Judge Warren coached Georgia State University College of Law’s mock trial team, winning the 2017 ‘William Daniel National Trial Competition’. She was also an attorney coach with Jonesboro High School for their 2016 State Mock Trial State Championship, for which she was recognized by the Georgia House of Representatives in House Resolution 1937. Judge Warren previously taught litigation instruction at a weeklong course for new prosecutors for over 10 years and lectured on delivering closing arguments. 

 

Judge Warren is a native of Memphis, TN. She is a proud graduate of Spelman College, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in 2002. At Spelman, Judge Warren became a member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., "Sweet" Mu Pi Chapter. Judge Warren obtained her law degree from Georgia State University College of Law, where she served as President of the Black Law Students Association (BLSA). She was also a member of the award winning Student Trial Lawyers Association mock trial team.

 

Judge Warren is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Sigma Omega Omega Chapter; the Georgia Association of Black Women Attorneys (GABWA); the Gate City Bar Association; the Georgia Association of Women Lawyers (GAWL); the Douglas County Bar Association; and the Lawyers Club of Atlanta. She is also a member of the Leadership Douglas Class of 2024. 

 

Judge Warren lives in Douglasville, GA. She is a member of Word of Faith Family Cathedral in Austell, GA.
